    First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

    First edition. The author's first published volume. Illustrated throughout. A charming collection of verses for young children, split into sections entitled: Home and Play, Music, Fancies and Pictures, Romance, and Postscripts. Written by Thomas Nicoll Hepburn, a Scottish poet and author who wrote under the pseudonym of Gabriel Setoun. Illustrated by Charles Robinson, a prolific British book illustrator. With twelve leaves of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

    Condition

    In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities and fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light spotting and minor age toning to the endpapers.
