Illustrated with 24 lithographic monochrome portrait plates. Collated, complete.
This volume gathers a series of lithographic portraits depicting notable figures associated with Oxford University during the late Victorian period, including poets, dons, and intellectuals such as: Oscar Wilde, Max Beerbohm, A. C. Benson, and others from the aesthetic and academic circles of the 1890s.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss to cloth at extremities. Spine discoloured. The odd handling mark and slight soiling to boards. Spotting to endpapers. Front and rear joints slightly cracked but holding. The odd light spot of damp staining. internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the odd spot and handling mark. Slight damp staining to right corner of lower fore edges heavier to last few leaves, not affecting any illustrations or text.
