The Duke of Aerstaedt's first hand report of the 3rd corps, a French military unit of the Grande Armee, during the Napoleonic wars. The Duke, otherwise known as Louis-Nicholas Davout, was was a crucial French commander who was influential in the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. The reports and letters were handed down by Devout's heirs and were used to create this work, providing important insight into the historic wars.
