A new edition. Featuring the issues of 'The Navy & Army Illustrated' magazine from June 26th, 1896, until December 11th, 1896. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding by Sutton, with gilt lettering. With a colour frontispiece and numerous photographs throughout, showcasing the everyday life of those in the British military services. 'The Navy & Army Illustrated', was a magazine which covered military matters from 1895 until 1915. For most of the magazines publication, it was edited by Charles Napier Robinson, an English journalist and writer. Robinson, himself, served in the Royal Navy and earned the title of Commander before pursuing his career in writing.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the extremities. Spine is slightly darkened. Some marks to the boards. Binder's label to the front paste-down. Some creasing to the free endpapers and slight cockling to the paste-downs. Small closed tear to the bottom of the front free endpaper. Internally, binding strained but firm. Pages slightly age-toned but otherwise bright and clean. The occasional handling marks throughout. Page 298 is torn diagonally across the page, with the loose section inserted into the book.
