First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

This first edition of short stories was Henry Nevinson's second anthology. This collection includes tales such as "An Undesired Victory", "The Old Adam", and "An Old Red Rag". Nevinson, a well known suffragist, was a war correspondent during the First World War, and also a journalist with an interest in exposing slavery. Acquired from a sale of the publisher J.M Dent's reference library, with this work being a 'File Copy'. With File Copy stamp to the recto of the front endpaper. Joseph Malaby Dent was a British book publisher best known for the Everyman's library series.

Condition

In the publisher's original binding. Externally, generally smart, with light marking and bumping to the head of the spine, and slight bumping to the extremities. The cloth on the boards is bright. File stamp and some pencil inscriptions on the recto of the front endpaper. Spotting to the foredge. Internally, the book is firmly bound. The pages are bright with just the occasional scattered spot to edge due to foredge spotting. A few pages remain uncut at the foredge.
