With a contemporary prize bookplate to the front pastedown, dated 1897.

A young master named Courcy is left by his father to be watched over by his grandparents, and ultimatley risks a series of mischievous adventures.

Adorned with a frontispiece and numerous plates and in-text illustrations.

Condition

Rebacked with the original cloth boards and original backstrip, with the repairer Malcolm P. Smith signed to the front pastedown. Externally, smart, with darkening to the spine and marks to the boards. Contemporary prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot.
