What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon
The first US edition, published the same year as the UK edition.
Bound in the publisher's original cloth.
Written by British novelist Henrietta Eliza Vaughan Stannard, who wrote largely under the pseudonym John Strange Winter. As well as for her many short stories and novels, Stannard was known as the founding president of the Writer's Club and president of the Society of Women Journalists.
'Grip' is a tale of love following the romantic endeavours of Robert Garge. As with many of Stannard's other works, this novel provides insight into the middle class, a group which made up the majority of the author's audience.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Externally, excellent, with a little bumping to the extremities and a touch of fading to the spine. Front hinge is a little strained, but holding firm. Bookseller stamp to the rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound with bright, clean pages.
