In the scarce original cloth binding.

Edward Stanley, Lord Bishop of Norwich between 1837-1849, wrote this ornithological work, providing a comprehensive overview of various species of birds alongside their history, features and ways of life.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Slight fading to the spine and scattered markings to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with offsetting to the front free endpaper. A few scattered spots and a small damp stain affecting half the pages. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front free endpaper, verso of frontispiece and title page.
