Uniformly bound in half maroon cloth with marbled paper-covered boards.
Comprised of a two-volume handbook on game birds written by Scottish ornithologist William Robert Ogilvie-Grant. Volume I contains information surrounding sandgrouse, partridges and pheasants while Volume II covers megapodes, curassows, hoatzins, bustard-quails and more pheasants.
Wonderfully illustrated with 40 vibrant chromolithographs. Lacking plates V and VI.
Condition
Uniformly bound in half maroon cloth with marbled paper-covered boards. Externally, very smart, with light bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. Fading to the spine. Light rubbing to boards, causing some loss to the paper to volume II. A little offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, the odd spot to the fore edge. Lacking plates V and VI.
