Complete with six pop-up chromolithograph scenes, all of which are complete with figures and in full working order, despite the upper tab to the lion and elephants pop-ups being detached.
A charming pop-up book for children, educating on wild animals, with pop-ups of lions, deer, leopards, monkeys, bears, and an elephant.
The pop-ups in this volume are framed scenes, depicting colourful 3D scenes of animals in a menagerie in cages.
Colourfully illustrated by the publisher, Ernest Nister, a pioneer in the field of movable books. Additionally including in-text monochrome engravings.
Text by L. L. Weldon, Evelyn Fletcher, and others.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with light handling marks and rubbing. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss of paper to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots and handling marks. Upper tab to the lion and elephants pop-ups are detached but still in full working order. A small amount of creasing to the tail of the bear pop-up.
