What Our Customers Say...

Description

Author's Presentation Copy, First Edition, Folding Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Letter

The first edition of this work, illustrated with a folding frontispiece, and a small number of illustrations.

With a signed letter from the author dated 1906 loosely inserted, addressed to 'Mr. Potter', requesting for Potter to 'please accept with my best thanks for your kindness re Britton. I have added a few notes here & there'. The post script reads 'I am sorry the copy has an accidental ink mark, but it is quite new otherwise'.

Edwards traces the history of concert halls, theatres, churches, and private houses connected with famous composers, performers, and patrons, weaving anecdotes of London’s musical society into accounts of the venues themselves.
