The first edition of tis very scarce children's story, an allegorical fairy-tail written by the author for his children. Thomas Edgar Pemberton was an English novelist, playwright, and theatrical historian, who gained a wide reputation as a theatrical biographer, writing numerous memoirs including that of TW Robertson, John Harem and Charles Wyndham among others.
A signed copy inscribed by the author to 'Annie T,' to the half title, dated 1894. Illustrated by Kate E Bunce with four full page plates and other decorations in text. Collated, complete.

Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, minor soiling to the boards and a touch of darkening to the spine. Inscribed and signed by the author to 'Annie T,' to the half title, dated 1894. Internally, firmly bound. A minor faint spotting to the fore edge, affecting the first and last few leaves, otherwise the pages are generally bright and clean throughout. Illustrated by Kate E Bunce with four full page plates and other decorations in text. Collated, complete.
