This edition features numerous in-text illustrations and 28 full page black-and-white illustrations, including an illustrated frontispiece, and four green line illustrations to endpapers. Collated, complete.
This volume contains a selection of some of Aesop's best known fables, such as: "The Dog in the Manger", "The Lion and the Mouse", "The Crow and the Pitcher", "The Fox and the Grapes", "The Wolf and the Lamb", and "The Fox and the Crow" to name a few.
Aesop was a storyteller who is thought to have lived in ancient Greece around the 6th century BCE. He is best known for his collection of fables featuring anthropomorphic animals that illustrate moral lessons of honesty, wisdom and kindness. These fables have become enduring classics, continuing to be shared with generation after generation.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. scattered spotting and the odd damp stain to boards. One or two handling marks and spots to endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, if slightly age toned with one or two spots and handling marks.
