Two volumes. With a portrait frontispiece to each volume. This set contains: The Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson, 1895. A collection of the poetical works of Alfred Tennyson, an English poet who was the Poet Laureate during much of Queen Victoria's reign. With titles such as: Maud, Idylls of the King, and Sir Launcelot and Queen Guinevere, amongst others. Matthew Arnold's Poetical Works, 1913. A collection of the poetical works of Matthew Arnold, an English poet and cultural critic. With titles such as: Youth and Calm, Tristram and Iseult, and The Good Shepherd with the Kid, amongst others.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Light spotting to the frontispieces. Minor age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpapers.
