In the publisher's original red cloth binding with blind stamping. 

A pleasing late-Victorian pairing of illustrated nineteenth-century fiction, consisting of:

Maid Marian and Crotchet Castle by Thomas Love Peacock with an introduction by George Saintsbury (1895). With numerous illustrations by F. H. Townsend, many of which are full-page, including a frontispiece.

The Phantom Ship by Captain Marryat, with an introduction by David Hannay. (1896). With numerous illustrations by H. R. Millar, many of which are full-page, including a frontispiece.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight fading to spines. The odd spot and slight offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot to first and last few leaves.
