A very attractive volume on the History of railroad technology. The story begins in the late 17th century and continues through the mid 1890s. Told through an engaging narrative. 

Written by J.G. Panghorn and containing numerous in-text colour illustrations by various artists. 

Containing an illustration index to the rear, including sections on motive power, permanent way, portraits, and more.

Condition

In felt cloth binding with gilt stamping to the front board. Externally, shelf wear to the boards resulting in some loss to the cloth on the front board. Some loss to the spine. Joints are starting, but hold firm. Sticker residue to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. A few handling marks to the pages, otherwise bright and clean.
