First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

Originally published as 'An Enigma' in Good Words, May 1893. The present copy first edition under the title of The Invisible Play-Mate. Written in prose and in verse about his daughter Winifred Vida, who died unexpectedly at the age of 10.  

William Canton was a a British poet, journalist, and writer now known for his contributions to children's literature. 

Complete with half title. Titles in red and black.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, light marks to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
