What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition, first impression of this novel written in a collaboration between Robert Louis Stevenson and his stepson Lloyd Osbourne.
This work was published the year Stevenson died.
The novel follows the lengthy voyage of a stolen ship and three remarkable characters.
Sullivan in 'The Penguin Encyclopaedia of Horror and the Supernatural' describes the work as 'full of memorable ghastly characters: the horror is so thick in places that as one critic aptly described it, 'one does not so much read the last few chapters as feel them crawling up one's spine.'"
With the publisher's catalogue to the rear dated August 1894.
