Illustrated, Rebound, Very Scarce
Extracted from the 1894 publication 'U.S. Commission of Fish and Fisheries: Report of the Commissioner for the Year Ending June 30, 1892'.
The extracted portion, pages 307-354, has the heading 'Bibliography of Publications in the English Language Relative to Oysters and the Oyster Industries', and lists around five-hundred published works about Oysters, providing details and further notes about a number of the works.
With two plates extracted from the larger work loosely inserted.
Rebound in quarter corduroy, with a photograph of a mountain of oyster shells in Washington state to the head of the front board.
Condition
In a quarter corduroy binding with cloth covered boys, with photograph pasted to head of front board. Light rubbing to corduroy, otherwise externally clean and bright. Title page formed from clippings pasted to front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound, but with two plates detached and loosely inserted. Pages clean, and lightly age toned.
