First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

First editions, first printings of Children's Singing Games collected by Alice B Gomme in the original publisher's cloth binding. Complete with Series I and II.

With illustrations throughout the texts by Winifred Smith.

Includes songs and rhymes such as London Bridge is Broken Down, Looby Loo, and Milking Pails. 

Alice Gomme was a British folklorist and pioneer in the study of children's games.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth bindings and dust wrapper. Externally, smart. There is bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and to the extremities. The spine of the second series is slightly worn. The hinges are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some occasional spotting.
