A study of the history of Leyton, Essex, from author John Kennedy, the vicar of a church within the parish. Including a chronological account of the history of the area.
In his preface, the author explains that 'Layton is a parish with a history worth writing well'. As such, Kennedy has included an account of all of the sources consulted, in the interest of prompting further historical investigation into the area.
Illustrated with a map frontispiece and double page illustrated plan of Leyton Grange. The gathering containing this illustrated plan is unopened.
Condition
In the publisher's original half vellum binding, with paper vellum covered boards. Back strip lightly age toned, with handling marks to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages exceptionally clean and bright, with gatherings unopened to heads.
