A very scarce administrative diary held by the Agent Governor, Streynsham Master, and the council at Fort St. George, an English fortress in India. The fort and accompanying port was created by the East India Trading Company to aid in spice trading, and was used to establish English influence over the region. This collection of records provides a historical account of commerce in seventeenth century India, and the proceedings of the fort.

Condition
In the publisher's original boards. Externally, marks and staining to the boards, and rubbing to the extremities of the boards. Hinges failed to 'Vol III' and to the rear to 'Vol IV', and weak to the front, starting to the rest. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound with minimal age toning and only occasional light spotting, generally clean.
