There are over twenty stories to this volume, including 'Casanova's Escape', 'Captain Snelgrave and the Pirates', 'The Escapes of Cervantes', 'Baron Trenck' and 'The Kidnapping of the Princes'.

In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally, sunning to the spine with a closed tear to the head with back strip lifting slightly, light edge wear, joints starting at the heads, and the odd light spot and handling mark. Minimal offsetting to the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Many pages unopened.
