Illustrated with a frontispiece and five plates. Collated, complete.

Part I of the two part novel 'The Steam House', an 1880 work by Verne following a group of British colonists in the Raj travelling in a wheeled house pulled by a steam-powered mechanical elephant. The second part is titled 'Tigers and Traitors'.

Undated; dated 1893 via Jisc.

Translated by the French by A. D. Kingston.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Boards bright. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with fading to back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
