The first edition of this work, limited to six hundred copies.
A collection of the dramatic and lyrical poetry of John Leicester Warren, the 3rd Baron de Tabley. Previous to this publication Warren had retired himself from the literary world, receiving great acclaim with the publication of this work, which was followed by a second series a couple of years later.
Including: A Woodland Grave, A Simple Maid, The Study of a Spider, Nuptial Song, and Retrospect. Illustrated by Charles de Sousy Ricketts, a British artist, illustrator, author and printer, known for his work as a book designer.
In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding with gilt details.
Illustrated with a wood engraved frontispiece, and five wood engraved plates, by C. S. Ricketts. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally excellent with only the slightest edge wear and fading to the spine. Minimal offsetting to the endpapers. Internally frontispiece disbound but present and pp. xi-1 weak, otherwise firmly bound with lightly age toned pages, and the odd spot to the front and rear, heavier to the title page.
