These images are the work of Wilhelm Anton Georg Dreesen, a German-Danish photographer who produced many such works in the 1890s. Many of Dreesen's works were lost in the bombing of Hamburg during World War II.
Dreesen's photographs depict the majestic natural landscape of northern Norway, and includes images of mountains, valleys, local people, and ports.
Housed in the publisher's original portfolio binding.
A very scarce work.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth covered portfolio binding. Externally, very smart. Bumping to board perimeters. One folding portion of portfolio detached, but present, with another tenderly held. Internally, unbound as issued. Plates generally clean and bright, but with light spotting to perimeters.
