A scarce first edition. In the original pictorial cloth binding, with charming cover illustration. With a beautiful colour frontispiece and numerous engraved illustrations throughout by illustrators such as Gordon Browne, J. Finnimore and W.H.C Groome. An lovely annual for children, featuring stories by popular authors such as Ismay Thorn and Janie Brockman. Titles include 'Justin and the Birds', 'May Day', and 'A Boy's Way'. With the previous owner's prize bookplate to the front paste-down. With the publisher's advertisements to the front and rear of the annual.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with shelf wear to the edges. Spine is darkened. Marks to the boards. Hinges are starting but firm. Some age-toning to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Prize bookplate to the front paste-down. Small closed tear to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages slightly age-toned but otherwise bright and clean, with only the occasional mark throughout. Spotting to the frontispiece and title page.
