    Mixed editions. Majority of volumes are undated and dated via institutional copies. 

    In the original decorative cloth binding. 

    Comprises the following titles: 

    Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ by Lew. Wallace (1890) - With numerous illustrated plates. 

    Beckie’s Mission, or Mr. Bartholomew’s Little Girl by L. Marston (1893) - With a frontispiece and four pages of advertisements to the rear. 

    Captain Geoff by Ismay Thorn (1894) - With numerous illustrated plates and two pages of advertisements to the rear. 

    Half a Dozen Boys. An Every-Day Story by Anna Chapin Ray (1897) - Two pages of advertisements to rear. 

    The Lost Vestal by Emma Marshall (1900) – Second edition. With a frontispiece and three plates. Collated, complete. Sixteen pages of advertisements to the rear. 

    The Thirsty Sword: A Story of the Norse Invasion of Scotland (1262-1263) by Robert Leighton (1900) - With a frontispiece, five plates and a dual-spread coloured map. Thirty-two pages of advertisements. Collated, complete.

    Condition

    In the original decorative cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards. Damp stains to 'Captain Geoff'. Hinges to 'Ben-Hur' and 'Beckie's Mission' are strained. With fading to the spines. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedowns of 'Thirsty Sword' and 'Beckie's Mission'. Internally, half title to the 'Thirsty Sword' detached but present and frontispiece to 'Beckie's Mission' detached but present, otherwise generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and scattered spots to the endpapers. The odd spot throughout 'Ben-Hur', 'Silver Skates' and 'Quentin Durward'. Age toning throughout 'Beckie's Mission'.
