In the publisher’s original decorative cloth bindings. Externally, vibrant. Bumping to back strip heads and tails, with fading to four back strips. Head of front joint of Aboukir starting, with board firmly held. Front hinge of Brigade strained and tenderly held. Front hinge of Sword, March strained and firmly held. Inscription to front free endpaper of Legion, Soudan and to front pastedown of Sword, and half title of March. Bookplate to front pastedown of Cabul and Aboukir. Front free endpaper of Incas removed. Internally, generally firmly bound. Frontispiece of March tenderly held. Pages bright and generally clean, with only the odd spot, but with instances of foxing to first and last few leaves of the earliest volumes. Library stamp to title page of Aboukir.
