Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
Two volumes. Very scarce. Two smart account books originally belonging to a Mrs Smith of 55 Goldstone Villas, Hove, Brighton and Hove, England. This set contains: Hunter's Alderney Dairy, South of England Dairies, Ltd. With original handwritten entries from February 22nd 1902 to November 26th 1903, detailing the product and the amount to be purchased. With one penny postage stamps and ink stamps from the business to show when these amounts were paid up. W. S. King, Pork Butchers. With original handwritten entries from January 4th 1893 to November 21st 1903, detailing the product and the amount to be purchased with some weights or measurements. With the original ink stamps from the business to show when these amounts were paid up.
Condition
In the original calf binding with gilt. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards with minor loss to the head and tail of the spine of W. S. King. A crack to the rear joint of W. S. King resulting in the spine lifting slightly. Minor loss to the rear board of Hunter's. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the original ink inscriptions. Minor age toning to the extremities. Bookseller's labels to the front pastedowns.
