A record of the life and career of Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, a British Army officer and statesman who was one of the leading military and political figures in Britain during the early nineteenth century and twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Wellington was among those who ended the Napoleonic Wars in a Coalition victory when the Seventh Coalition defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Written by George Robert Gleig, a Scottish soldier, military writer, and priest.
Condition
Bound in full calf. Externally, sound with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. A 3" crack to the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Scattered spotting to the first and last few pages with a contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
