Written by Augustus Grimble. Grimble was a keen hunter and fisher, writing a number of other works on the subject including 'The Deer Forests in Scotland', 'The Salmon Rivers of England' and 'Deer-Stalking'.
This work offers both a biographical account of Grimble's experience with the sports, as well as an instructional guide to shooting and salmon fishing, including a detailed and illustrated guide to casting off, demonstrated further with a number of plates relating to the subject.
From the library of W.A. Foyle of Beeleigh Abbey. William Foyle founded Foyles bookshop in 1903 alongside his brother. He purchased Beeleigh Abbey during the Second World War, an impressive twelfth century monastery in Essex. Beeleigh housed his library, one of the largest private libraries in England.

In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Back strip age toned. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
