The third edition of this work, originally published in 1872. 

In the publisher's original navy cloth binding. 

This charming collection comprises the proverbs spoken by fictional character Sancho Panza in the novel 'Don Quixote' written by Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra in 1605. 

Edited together with their English translations, as well as English equivalents for some that are placed directly within a Spanish context. 

Edited by Ulick Ralph Burke, whose eminence derived from his interest in the language, literature and history of Spain resulting from a tour of the country. 

Condition

In the original navy cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with sunning to the spine label and marks to the boards. With bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and a few spots to the endpapers. With two small previous owner's bookplates to the rear pastedown.
