A historical novel telling the story of the early life of the hero Umslopogaas, the unacknowledged son of the great Zulu king and general Chaka. Written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard, an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre.
Previously owned by the artist Herbert C. Sheppard with his stamps to the front.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally sound with fading to the spine and extremities, a slight lean, a closed tear to the rear joint, and wear to the extremities with small closed tears and slight loss to the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally binding starting slightly in places with frontispiece weak. Pages generally bright with spotting throughout. Owner's stamps to the blanks and advertisements.
