Often considered one of the greatest comic characters in English literature, this novel from Robert Smith Surtees features Jorrocks, a vulgar and artful cockney grocer, as he attends a hunt. 

As with many of Surtees's works, this volume features the illustrations of popular artist John Leech. Leech was best known for his contributions to the famous 'Punch' magazine, and was one of the leading caricaturist and illustrators of the nineteenth century.

Condition

In a half morocco binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Light rubbing to front joint and centre of boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with only the odd spot.
