    Description

    A very scarce children's novel, presumed to be the first edition. 

    In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding.

    Charmingly illustrated with a frontispiece and six plates, this novel follows the life of a bubbly young girl named Ethel and the friendship that sparks between her and a traveller girl, Aline. 

    Undated, dated from copies held institutionally. 

    With a leaf of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Externally, very smart. With light rubbing and bumping to the extremities and a few small tide marks to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper and the odd spot.
