The very scarce first edition of this work.

In the pleasing original decorative cloth binding, with gilt. 

Undated, dated from a copy held at the British Library.

A novel for young readers, published under Edith Caroline Pollock's pseudonym. The story follows a cheeky young boy named Ivor who is reluctant to the prospect of becoming a gentleman. 

With eleven monochrome plates, including a frontispiece, as well as three full page illustrations to the publisher's advertisements.

Two leaves of advertisements. 

Condition

In the original decorative cloth binding. Externally, very smart. With light rubbing to the extremities and bumping to the spine head and tail. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
