Eleven issues of the 'Pick-Me-Up' magazine bound in one, an uncommon work.

'Pick-Me-Up' was a weekly penny paper published from 1888 to 1909. The aim of the magazine was exactly as the title described, the issues containing entertaining short tales and poems, described to cheer up the reader.

This volume contains the issues: No. 185 for April 16th 1892; No. 186 for April 23rd 1892; No. 206 for September 10th 1892; No. 210 for October 8th 1892; No. 211 for October 15th 1892; No. 220 for December 17th 1892; No. 224 for January 14th 1893; No. 244 for June 3rd 1893; No. 247 for June 24th 1893; No. 255 for August 19th 1893; and No. 300 for June 30th 1893.

Contents include a series of reviews of contemporary plays, including a review of Lady Windermere's Fan, a series of physiognomical studies by Professor Annie I. Oppenheim, a couple of chapters of 'A Wife in Need is a Wife Indeed', and 'He Duke and His Valet' by F. C. Philips, 'The Secret of Sinclair Moat', and more.

Each issue is illustrated throughout.

Condition

Bound in a cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light marks and rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Hinges are starting but firm. Loss to the rear endpaper. Lacking most of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with scattered spots. Small chips to the margins of a couple of pages.
