What Our Customers Say...
Description
Early Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding
The very scarce second edition of this work.
In the original illustrated cloth binding with gilt text.
A detailed account of Edward Frederick Knight's voyage to Trinidade in a 64-foot yawl named the Alerte.
At the time, it was the only detailed written account of the island, however it mistakenly describes it as if it was inhabited despite it being populated at the time.
The work is illustrated with a frontispiece of the Alerte, seventeen monochrome plates, five in-text woodcuts and two further plates containing coloured maps.
Collated, complete.
