    Bound in half calf, with cloth boards and decorative gilt to the spine. Rebacked, with the contemporary backstrip laid down. 

    Containing "several hundreds of new recipes for English, German, Italian, American, Australian and Indian cookery" as well as practical domestic hints for housekeepers, servants, illnesses, economy of the kitchen and more. 

    Illustrated with sixty-eight full-page engravings as well as thirteen colour plates, two of which are folding, and numerous in-text engravings. Collated, complete. 

    With a charming contemporary slip with a handwritten recipe for an apple jam loosely inserted.

    Condition

    Bound in half calf, with cloth boards and decorative gilt to the spine. Rebacked, with the contemporary backstrip laid down. Externally, smart, with a few minor marks and light rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned, with scattered spots throughout.
