A collection of the poetical works of Victor-Marie Hugo, a French Romantic author, poet, essayist, playwright, and politician who wrote in a variety of genres and forms. His most famous works are the novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1831) and Les Miserables (1862). This collection contains titles such as: A La Colonne, Napoleon II, A Canaris, Conseil, and Autre Chanson, amongst others. Previously held in the library of R. E. W. Maddison, a British doctor of philosophy.
Condition
In the original full calf binding. Externally, smart with minor wear to the extremities and fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with minor age toning to the endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
