A history of the 53rd (Shropshire) Regiment of Foot, from its formation in 1755, to its amalgamation with the 85th (King's Light Infantry) Regiment of Foot to form the King's Shropshire Light Infantry in 1881.

The regiment fought during the American Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, 

Illustrated with a chromolithograph frontispiece, three chromolithograph plates, and four monochrome plates.

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Spine is faded. Tape marks to the spine and joints. A few light marks to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Frontispiece is working loose.
