First edition. With a portrait frontispiece and seven pages of facsimile letters to the rear. Collated complete. A military biography of Major-General Robert Craufurd, a British Army officer who, in 1810 in the Peninsular War, was given command of the Light Division, composed of the elite foot soldiers, under the Duke of Wellington. With interesting and amusing anecdotes recounting the exploits of his Light Division. Written by Craufurd's grandson, Alexander H. Craufurd, a British author and clergyman.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. With marks to the boards. Hinges just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting, predominantly to the fore-edge and endpapers. With minor age toning to the endpapers.
