First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Uncommon
Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards.
Comprised of articles from The Leisure Hour periodical, which was published weekly by The Religious Tract Society between 1852 and 1905. The magazines were typically six articles long, with poetry, biographies, essays and fiction, all accompanied by vignettes and full-page illustrations.
Illustrated with eleven full-page plates, which were original frontispieces to separate volumes, with an additional coloured frontispiece to the start of the work. Collated, complete. Many additional vignettes throughout.
Condition
Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd mark. Slight damp staining to the fore edge of both boards. Internally, firmly bound, with bright clean pages, and the occasional handling mark.
