What Our Customers Say...

Description

Rebound, Uncommon

The People's Edition of this uncommon cookery book.

Rebound in a later cloth.

Undated, dated from a copy held at the British Library.

Offering a variety of recipes, including gravies, soups, fish, veal, mutton, game, curries, pastry, deserts, breads, jellies, wines and more. Preceded by hints on carving and technical terms.

The name Anne Bowman is more frequently associated with that of novelist (titles including Laura Temple, The Castaways, The Young Nile-Voyagers). It is not certain whether this and the Anne Bowman of this cookery book are one and the same.

With advertisements to the endpapers.

Condition

Rebound in later burgundy cloth. Bound with the original wraps. Externally, excellent, with minimal shelf wear and a couple faint marks to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with tide marks to the front and rear covers, resulting in dye bleeding into the next few leaves. The odd spot to the contents.
