Five short stories taken from the larger 'Blue Fairy Book', one of many such collections of fairy tales and short stories edited by Andrew Lang, a Scottish poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best remembered as a collector of folk and fairy tales.
Illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous vignette illustrations throughout by H. J. Ford and G. P. Jacomb Hood.
With a former owner's pencil inscription to the title page head.
A lovely copy of a very scarce volume.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with back strip age toned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of spotting and foxing throughout.
