Bound in the publisher's original quarter paper vellum and paper-covered boards.

Written by Scottish poet and novelist, Andrew Lang, largely known for his folk and fairy tales.

This collection is comprised of numerous amusing letters written by various people throughout history, some of which were real and some which were fictional. Lang writes from the point of view of people such as Mr Pickwick, William Ladislaw, Mr Arthur Pendennis, Sophocles the Athenian, the theologian Piscator, and many others.

These stories originally appeared in St James Gazette.

Illustrated with a frontispiece. Collated, complete.

Condition

Bound in the publisher's original quarter paper vellum and paper-covered boards. Externally, very good, with light bumping to the extremities causing small loss to paper. A little rubbing to the joints, with sunning to the spine and the odd mark to boards. Offsetting and scattered spotting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with the odd spot to the fore edge.
