The first trade edition of this work, which was first published as a limited edition of 250 copies for subscribers the year prior.

A charming collection of poetry from American writer Eugene Field, known as 'the poet of childhood' for his children's poetry.

In a half morocco binding, with the bookplate of R. I. Stearns to front pastedown. With the inscription of Mrs I R Stearns, November 1891, to a front blank.

Condition

In a half morocco binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Back strip age toned, with significant rubbing to back strip head and tail and joints. Front joint head and tail, and rear joint head, starting, with boards a touch tender. Internally, binding lightly strained, with one gathering a touch tender. Pages a touch age toned, otherwise clean and bright.
