An impressive collections of six works from Haggard, the English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations, predominantly Africa, and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. Including five first editions.

The first edition of 'Beatrice' (1890). This volume has been rebound in cloth, with endpapers renewed. Retaining only the first twelve pages of the publisher's catalogue, lacking the final four pages which bear the date. McKay 15.

The first edition of 'Dr. Therne' (1898). McKay 25.

The first edition of 'A Farmer's Year' (1899), illustrated with a frontispiece and thirty-six plates. Collated complete. With publisher's catalogue correctly dated September 1898. McKay 28.

A 1901 'new impression' of 'Lysbeth', published in the same year as the first edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-five plates. Collated, complete.

The 1910 first edition of 'Regeneration, Being an account of the Social Work of the Salvation Army in Great Britain'. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece. McKay 48.

The first edition of 'Moon of Israel' (1918), with eight pages of advertisements to the rear. McKay 61

Condition

Five volumes in the publisher's original cloth bindings, with 'Beatrice' rebound with endpapers renewed. Bumping to back strip heads and tails, with significant tide marks to boards and back strip of 'Farmer'. Rear hinge of 'Beatrice' strained but firmly held. 'Farmer' hinges strained and tenderly held. Inscription to title page of Beatrice, front pastedown of Moon of Israel and front free endpaper of Regeneration. Internally, generally firmly bound. One plate of 'Lysbeth' detached and loosely inserted. Pages lightly age toned, with spotting and handling marks throughout.
