A brilliant black comedy novel co written by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Obsourne.

'The Wrong Box' tells of two brothers, who find themselves to be the last two surviving members of a tontine, an adventurous tale in which the brothers go on many frantic endeavours.  

This was the first of three novels that Stevenson wrote with his stepson, Lloyd Osbourne. Their other novels were 'The Wrecker' and 'The Ebb-Tide'.

'The Wrong Box' was highly regarded when first published, including by the likes of Rudyard Kipling.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Some marks to the boards and spine, including small scattered damp stains to the front board. Spine is a little discoloured. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Scattered spots to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots.
